Ciao!! I hope everyone has had a lovely week so far! Last weekend I ventured to Switzerland and to say it was beautiful would be an understatement. It was the most magical place I have ever been too. I was unable to blog during my stay in Switzerland however the pictures are available on my Facebook page (Jacquelyn Beaulieu). Valentine's Day is right around the corner and this post is all about the perfect boyfriend. I hope you all enjoy and I hope the rest of your week and weekend is filled with endless love and happiness! Ciao!
My style has been changing quite drastically since I have moved to Italy. I get to play with different ideas and pieces and come up with outfits that are new for me.I have immersed myself in the Italian culture and I have been studying fashion from sun up to sun down. The experience has been extremely fun.
Lately I have been all about my perfect boyfriend. My boyfriend jeans that is. Boyfriend jeans are a style of jean that is very loose fitting and hang low on the waist. This is a menswear play on the traditional women's jean. The "boyfriend fit" is comfortable and wearable for daytime and can be dressed up for nighttime wear. The look of these jeans is very laid-back and quite sexy when paired with a simple v-neck t-shirt, which is the way I usually style mine. However, I decided that since Valentine's Day is looming, I wanted to show my perfect, always reliable boyfriend jeans some love and dress them up. I am wearing a cream cropped, cowl neck sweater from H&M, black and gold faux fur jacket from Zara, jeans from H&M, a black belt from Hermes, and black heeled booties from Aldo.

A trend that is very hot right now is cowl necks. I found this cowl neck/turtleneck cropped sweater at H&M here in Italy and I had to have it. This sweater is a great basic item to have in your closet. It is an easy piece that can be dressed up or worn casually. I can throw it on with loose jeans like I did here, or I can wear it with printed trousers and pumps and be ready for a night out. The length of the sweater is also very practical. Cropped tops have been a fad that we can finally say is fading out. However, this sweater is long enough to wear with any style of pant. Even though my jeans hang low on my waist, a tasteful amount of skin is shown. Sweaters are versatile in general, however sweaters with collars or cowl necks are equally as versatile, and they give an outfit an extra something' somethin'.

The weather here in Florence is lovely with a high in the 50s. Coats are a thing of the past. However, since the temperature dips a little bit in the evening I threw on this faux fur jacket. This jacket is the element in my outfit that helps dress up my look. The rose gold in the jacket adds a pop of color to my neutral color palette. Adding a subtle amount of a color to an outfit is one of the easiest ways to dress it up. The jacket is the same length as my sweater which is why I chose this jacket over any other one that I own. When layering garments over each other, matching lengths of the garments are very important. The jacket would not work if it was longer than the sweater because the boxy cut of the jacket would create an illusion that you have a bigger and wider body than you actually do. This is what we as women like to stay away from.

This look is cool and comfortable while still having subtle amounts of sexiness in it. Feeling sexy is not only achieved when you wear tight clothes. Loose fitting clothes can make you feel sexy while still feeling comfortable and confident about yourself and your body. The boyfriend jean is trendy, cool and is begging to be purchased by you! Lets be serious, who needs a boyfriend when you have these suckers waiting for you in your closet! LOL
I hope you all enjoyed this post as much as I did. I am looking forward to my next few post as I am traveling to Prague this weekend. I will be blogging while I am there and I can't wait to share my travels with you all! I hope you enjoyed the views of my beautiful home in my pictures as well. We shall talk soon! CIAO
