HI guys!! Welcome back to Louboutin'd! I want to explain my two month absence. As most of you know I am currently living and studying in Florence, Italy and I have also been traveling around Europe. I decided to put blogging on hold for a bit as I started to travel more frequently. Prague was my last blog destination and since then I have traveled to Berlin, Brussels, Amsterdam, Paris, Barcelona, Greece and Croatia. The two months I have been away from Louboutin'd have been hectic and absolutely amazing but I am ready to get back to work! Pictures from my travels are up on my Facebook account Jacquelyn Beaulieu.
Since I have been traveling every weekend to a new country, I decided that as this weekend is sadly my last weekend in Florence, as I head back to the United States on Friday, a blog based in Florence was the most appropriate. In this post I take you with me to a few of my favorite places in the city. I hope you all enjoy and I look forward to being back with you soon! Ciao!

First things first is the clothes, always the clothes. In this post I am wearing a floral top from Forever 21, gray dress pants from Zara, a green cap from NastyGal, and black cutout flats from Urban Outfitters. I went outside of the typical European style that I have adapted to since living in Italy and had a little fun with my closet.
The way I dress has changed quite drastically since I have moved here and I have to say it has been so fun embracing new styles and trends, while still incorporating the clothes that I came here with.
You caught me. I have shopped till I dropped in Europe. Living in a city with people that are known as some of the best dressed people in the world affects you. What's a girl to do...(go to Zara and Twin-Set in between classes.....sorry Mom)

The main focus for the outfit in this post is my hat. Whenever I am planning out an outfit for an event or even for the next day, I tend to find myself basing outfits on statement things in my closet or my favorite piece at the time. Today is was my hat! The hat is a forest green color which I wanted to enhance throughout the look. I decided to pair this floral top with the hat in order to pull out the greens in the shirt in order to tie the outfit together. I find that when I wear an item that is a statement piece, like my hat, I wear at least one other article that has that same color in it. This makes matching easy and looks effortless.
Here I am, mixing two of my favorite things, ice cream and clothes. First stop on my tour through Florence is my favorite gelato shop, Gelateria Santo Trinita. I have had the once in a life time chance to try some of the best gelato shops in all of Italy and after gathering my research, Cookies and Tarta Frutta are my favorite flavors. My face says it all... yum!
Back to the clothes we go! I picked up these gray dress pants from Zara when I was in Barcelona. This trip to Zara was a must, since Zara is a spanish based company, it only felt right to check out the motherland.
These are not your average dress pants, which is the main reason I had to take them home with me. The pants are a sweat-pant material and are some of the most comfortable pants I own. The pants do have pleats in the front and are high waisted which make them very flattering. The combination of the cut of the pants and the material they are made of creates versatility. They are casual pants and can be worn with a plain t-shirt and high top converse, which is my personal favorite way to style them or they can be dressed up like I chose to do today.
I threw on my favorite pair of flats from Urban Outfitters to finish off this look. I chose to wear black shoes to tie in the black collar of my shirt and because these are my favorite shoes to wear when I will be walking a lot during the day. Comfort trumps beauty sometimes.

Here I am eating a panini. This photo is not fashion related, however this panini deserved to make the blog post. I have come to the conclusion that this panini is the sole reason why I will miss Italy. (that is a lie, there are countless reasons why I will miss living here, but this is a BIG reason.) The panini is from Gastronomia la Dispensa and it is heavenly. The owners of the shop do not speak English, which was interesting during the first few weeks I arrived. However, now ordering is a breeze and the panini gets better every time I get one.
Who doesn't love getting their serving of fruit, fresh from the corner market every morning? I DO! This corner market is so small that 3 people can not fit inside the store at one time. Fruit and vegetables are brought in fresh every morning and loaded onto the shelves. I stop in every morning on my way to school to get an apple and some dried fruit, usually strawberries and bananas with a few almonds. The same little lady runs the place from open to close every day of the week. She knows my order and it is ready for me when I come by in the mornings. The fruit is some of the best fruit I've ever eaten and the outside feel of the market makes the whole experience very Italy-like.
One of my favorite things to do in-between classes or on a nice day, is to sit on one of the many bridges in Florence, have lunch and people watch. I usually end up looking at people for fashion inspiration or for the sole purpose to see the way that this city makes people feel and act. People are always taking pictures of the sights and the bridges, specifically the one behind me; the Ponte Vecchio. Tourist season is upon us here in Florence and the streets are filled with people who are excited and smiling about being in one of the most magical and stunningly beautiful cities in the world. I think that is why people dress so well here. People tend to dress based on the way they feel, and living in a city like Florence has only left me feeling happy and grateful. This city has impacted me not only fashionably, but in every way a city could influence a person.
I hope you all enjoyed this post and the little peak into my favorite city in the world. I loved showing you guys a little bit of my life here in Italy and some of my favorite places to go and things to do when I stroll around town. I am going to miss living in this wonderland of a place so much and I am already thinking about the next time I can come back and visit my second home.
I can't wait to see you all back here soon with another post! Ciao mi amichi!
Simply,
Jacquelyn
