Welcome back my beautiful people! I hope you all are having a wonderful day and enjoying the last few days of summer! I recently traveled to Greece for vacation and I blogged one of my outfits that I wore. I wanted to post this blog today because I can feel summer slipping away from me as I sit in my dorm room at school starting my Junior year of college. In between my homework I am writing this post. I am looking forward to writing this and get the chance to look back on some photos of my vacation in Greece. I had the most amazing time with my parents and my best friend Adriana. We traveled to Athens for a bit and then set sail to the Greek Islands of Mykonos and Santorini. Our 12 days of extreme luxury were some of the best days of my life and definitely of my summer. Greece is one of my favorite countries and I was so happy to go back with my family! Without any more rambling lets jump into this post! I hope you all enjoy!
So as you can see this outfit is definitely different. However, I absolutely love it. These photos were all taken in Santorini in the city of Oia, which is where we stayed. It is a beautiful city and lives up to all of the photos you see. I felt like I was living in a post card the entire time. Since I was in such a beautiful place I wanted to dress the part. I was shopping one night in Oia and I came across a store that sold one of a kind clothing from a famous Greek fashion designer. I went in and the woman running the small store started to fill a clothes rack for me with different pieces she wanted me to try on. I tried on a dozen pieces and then I saw these shorts. I could not take them off. They belonged on my body. I bought them and a shirt which I am planning on featuring sometime soon! The shorts are light weight and very flattering despite the wide leg. The waistband gives me a defined shape while still keeping to the dramatically loose style of the shorts. The style of Greek clothing is very oversized and light colored which is why I wanted to buy these shorts because it was a true depiction of authentic Greek fashion. I wanted to pair the shorts with a top that wouldn't take away from the uniqueness of the shorts. I chose a cropped top from TopShop. I would not typically wear this shirt during the day shopping at home, however in Greece it was definitely appropriate.
My shoes are another main part of this look. During our time in Athens, my mom told me about this man that is a poet and a shoe maker who has made shoes for celebrities from Jackie Kennedy to Sarah Jessica Parker. We found the store and the original shoemaker's son now runs it and occasionally makes shoes. It was my lucky day because he was there and I asked him if he would make me and Adriana a pair of sandals. I decided on these gladiator sandals and I am obsessed with them. I will never forget meeting Mr. Stavros Melissinos and the shoes that he made for me. I thought that these were the only appropriate shoe to pair with this look and I love the way it turned out.

I wanted to show an alternative way to wear this outfit which I personally really liked. I put on a beige linen shirt over my cropped top. This gives the look a more casual feel and is even more fitting to the Greek style. I tied up the bottom of the shirt to show a bit of my stomach and to show off the waistband of the shorts. I kept my orange necklace underneath the shirt for a different look.
I saw a woman in Santorini that was wearing her long necklace to the side and off her shoulder. I instantly loved the way it looked and wanted to recreate it in my own way and this is what I came up with. I thought this would be a cool way to wear a piece of jewlery for a night out or to dinner. I loved playing with the Greek style while I was there and taking inspiration from the people who lived there and from tourists from all over the world. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do because I am able to embrace the culture in all aspects especially with fashion.
Last but certainly not least are my sunglasses. These glasses are incredibly important to me. In Mykonos we were shopping and my dad pulled us into this sunglass store called Kopajos. It is a family owned and run store with only one location in Mykonos. The family is from Milan, Italy and now lives in Mykonos running the store. The father makes the sunglasses by hand and they are all one of a kind. The son and daughter are my age and they work in the store every day and together they design custom made leather backpacks which are also sold in the store. I was lucky enough to meet this amazing family and was given these glasses to feature on my blog. I chose these sunglasses for many reasons. I have never seen a pair of sunglasses this beautiful and unique in my entire life. They are amazing quality and the son told me that Franca Sozzani, the editor and chief of Vogue Italia featured these exact sunglasses in the latest issue of Vogue. I will always cherish these sunglasses and I want to thank the Kopajos family for everything they did for me and my family while we were in Greece. It was a blessing to meet them and I hope to see their sunglasses in stores in New York City and all around the world in the near future.
This post was so fun for me to do and I loved being able to include some of my favorite pieces that I was given and bought during my time in Greece. I feel as though I fully embraced Greek fashion and culture and it was so amazing to be able to do and see the things I did while I was there. I hope to visit again soon! Until next time my beautiful readers!
