Hi everyone! I'm so happy to be back with you all! Midterms are in full swing, which explains my delay with posting. However, I am looking forward to posting weekly very soon! Today’s post is all about falling into fall! This post is focusing on one of this falls biggest trends, which is one of my favorite colors; winter white! I hope you all enjoy!
First, I want to introduce this weeks beautiful model, my suitemate and best friend Christine. I took a peek in Christine's closet and found perfect fall pieces. Christine is wearing a cropped, winter white sweatshirt from Zara, mustard skinny jeans from Macy's, black ankle boots from H&M and a necklace from Charming Charlie’s. This fall, winter white is one of the biggest trends. It’s a popular color used often by designers to make the transition from fall to winter easier. You may be wondering what exactly winter white is. To put it simply, it is a mix between white and cream. As you can see it goes with just about everything.
I paired this beautiful sweatshirt with a straight-legged jean. I wanted to show off the structure of the sweatshirt so I chose very form fitting pants. I chose to go with the mustard jeans for a pop of color. Mustard is also a fall favorite. Another trend hitting fashion this fall are ankle boots! Christine had these black ankle boots with a slight heel that went great with this fall outfit. Purchasing ankle boots that have a heel is a good idea. The heel helps elongate our lines and slims legs. Another tip to help create slim legs is to tuck the bottom of your jeans into the boot. This creates a clean line and doesn’t attract attention to the bottom of your legs. Cuffing pants just above the boot creates another line that doesn't need to be there. The boots already cut into your leg, so there is no need to have another line with a cuffed hem.
I chose to pair this deep red necklace with the outfit for a color blocking effect. Color blocking is a technique that is used very often in fashion. Color blocking creates a visual pop. Fall colors are usually deep reds, yellows, browns, and purples. These are good colors to use if you want to color block a fall outfit. Color blocking creates a more unique and visually exciting outfit. And if I do say so myself, Christine rocked it!
This fall, the trends are fabulous. Take advantage of the risky fashion styles that are out this season. Break some rules and add a flare to your personal style. I hope you all enjoyed this post and I cant wait to be back with you all every soon!
Simply,
Jacquelyn
